Serena has been married to her husband Mark for twenty-seven years. They have a daughter, Emilie who has been on numerous Youth For Orphans missions trips. Serena has been a registered nurse for twenty-nine years with her primary focus being hospice care. Serena also dedicates time to her neighborhood health clinic providing hope and healing for those in need. Her passion for Youth 4 Orphans started with her daughter sharing her personal experiences about mission trips and the valuable life lessons she learned. Expressing that, “no joy can be equal to the joy you receive by serving others”. Serena believes that Y4O gives our local youth the unique opportunity to serve others while broadening worldly perspectives and developing leadership skills. One of the most valuable ways to serve others as Christians is to show we care. As found in Act 20:25, it is more blessed to give than receive.
