The Bahamas

Y4O mission trips focus on Sharing the Gospel, Training Leaders, and Caring for Orphans. While each mission trip offers a unique experience, all attendees will gain a cultural awareness and spread God’s love to children who have been removed from their homes or orphaned by the loss of their parents or abandonment. These trips are all Gospel-centered and each participant will grow deeper in their relationship with Christ.

Our trips are designed for college students and young adults, along with adult leaders.

Y4O has been serving at the Old Bight Mission Home on Cat Island since 2009! Y4O supports the home throughout the year by sending personal items, food, cleaning supplies, and providing light maintenance and projects.

This year on Cat we plan to teach Gospel-centered principles on personal success through an SNL-Style show at the high school, primary schools, and preschool. This includes skits, videos, games, and more inspired by, “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews. In the evening the team provides worship and devotions to the children at the home.

Other potential places you might visit around the island include: Old Bight Beach, Old Bight Creek, the local grocery stores, and Mount Alvernia, the Bahamas’ highest elevation.  A big activity is crabbing!  The Bahamas are well known for their land crabs and crabbing is a highlight each week.  Nightly worship and devotions are also a highlight for most who go to Cat Island.

Each mission trip offers an opportunity for you to grow deeper in your relationship with Christ and fulfilling your call to “Go!”.

This trip provides the opportunity to work with a smaller group of students to really make a big individual impact.

You will be working with students from Elizabeth Estates and Ranfurly Home for Children providing a leadership program for a select group of students from each home. In this training they will learn leadership skills, life skills, and more, all while being empowered to become a positive, influential leader in their homes and community.

Some of the potential places you may visit during your trip include: the world-famous Nassau Straw Market, the Fish Fry, and additional local stores and attractions. We will also have a chance to connect with some of our friends from the children’s homes on Cat Island and Nassau at the Alumni dinner.

Our 2023 Nassau Mission Trip is scheduled for July 29-August 5. The trip cost is $850 plus airfare (estimated at $295 from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau).

A deposit of $500 is due with the trip application and balance plus airfare by June 1. Any difference will be billed or refunded separately after booking.

Bahamas Mission

More About Bahamas

The Bahamas are English speaking islands in the Caribbean. They are known for their beautiful beaches, rich heritage and vibrant colors.

They have a laid back demeanor and place value on relationships rather than timeliness.

Camps & Leadership

Trips typically have a camp-style element where participants provide music, messages, and activities around a central theme. Participants are actively engaged in all elements of the trips and develop leadership skills along the way.

Transition & Life Skills
Training

While in Nassau, participants lead worship, messages and transitional/life skills training for the young people living at one of two children’s homes. Evenings are spent growing deeper in their relationships with each other and Christ, while staying at a local church.
