Welcome to the Y4O international mission trips page.  Our mission trips focus on orphan care and orphan alleviation.  Each area we serve is a completely different experience, but all will raise your awareness of the plight of vulnerable children.   All of our mission trips are designed for rising 9th grade students to young adults.  Our vision trips are typically for adults.  If you have questions, please contact Terry at 239-248-2838 or terry@youth4orphans.org.

Trip Details

These mission teams travel to the island of La Ganove, Haiti, located off of the west coast of the mainland of Haiti. La Ganove is often considered the poorest area of Haiti with minimal resources and extremely high unemployment rates which are leading factors to orphaned children. This mission experience focuses on building relationships through camps, community development, orphan care, and orphan alleviation programs.  We will work closely with the Family of Happy Children Orphanage, College of Ralph C. Tuthill School, and the rural communities of Betoti and Nan Lebrun.

The Cat Island experience is a perfect starting point for those new to mission work.  This popular destination has limited space and arrangements will be made for our new and/or younger missionaries to participate.  We ask that some of our seasoned missionaries consider participating in Nassau*, Haiti or Guatemala trips. (*The friends we have made over the past 9 years have mostly moved to the Nassau homes.)

These teams will partner with the Royal Bahamas Police Force to hold camp at the Old Bight Elementary School.  Camp will be for approximately 70 children of the community including the children from OBMH.

Other potential places you might visit around the island include:  Old Bight Beach, Old Bight Creek, the local grocery stores, and Mount Alvernia, the Bahamas’ highest elevation.  A big activity will be crabbing!  The Bahamas are well known for their land crabs and crabbing is a highlight each week.  Nightly worship and devotions are also a highlight for most who go to Cat Island.

We are happy to announce that Y4O will be taking two mission teams to Cat Island this summer.

Are you interested in learning more about the areas and people we serve in our current locations or potential future areas?  Vision Trips typically last for three days and provide a great opportunity for you to connect with God’s mission through Y4O.  During a Vision Trip you will learn about the local communities, meet the people we serve and help us dream about the future of Y4O and how we can care for and prevent future orphans.
